IMPORTANT NOTICE

Before paying your ticket, please review the following information:

Our City aims to assist residents and visitors. If you are reading this, you or someone you know has received a traffic or related charge.

In some cases, you may be eligible to have your ticket dismissed and avoid a conviction on your record.

If you have no or minimal prior traffic history, you may qualify for dismissal through our Pre-Trial Intervention Program (PTIP).

PTIP is simple to apply for and complete. Come to Court and fill out an application. The prosecutor and Judge will review it. If accepted, you must complete a one-day online driving school, pay court costs and PTIP fees, and avoid new charges during the program. After meeting all requirements, your case will be dismissed.

IF YOU’RE UNSURE…

Call the Municipal Court Office at 256-442-9775 before Court to see if you may qualify. Clerk and magistrate opinions are for general information only. Final decisions rest with the prosecutor and Judge.

IF YOU HAVE LIMITED FINANCIAL RESOURCES…

We will work with you on payment arrangements for PTIP fees. Assistance is based on factors such as income, expenses, dependents, disabilities, assets, and other relevant circumstances. A public defender may be appointed depending on your charges and possible sentence.

Information on this page is for general informational purposes only and is not legal advice. Entry into PTIP is not a right, and eligibility requirements must be met. Participation is optional. You may plead not guilty and request a trial, or plead guilty and pay your ticket, which will result in a conviction on your driving record.

If aggravating circumstances exist, the Court may impose additional PTIP requirements.

If you still wish to pay your ticket online, click the link below.

The Southside Municipal Court has jurisdiction over motor vehicle and traffic violations, criminal misdemeanors, and municipal violations established by the Code of Ordinances and committed within the City limits of Southside, Alabama.
